How to Make Your Wedding Attire Shopping Stress Free and Fun

choosing a wedding dress    Shopping for a wedding gown   bridesmaids advice on wedding gown

  • You can start ‘window’ shopping early in bridal salons, magazines and the Internet but don’t buy your gown – dress too early especially if you plan to lose weight before the wedding.
  • Establish your budget. Count in alteration costs and accessories (Jewelry, shoes, undergarments veils, belts, headpieces, hair accessories, lingerie etc.)
  • Choose carefully who will accompany you to check your local bridal shops. It is a good idea to have your maid of honor and one bridesmaid to help you with your gown – dress as well as with ideas for bridesmaids’ attire. Collect their ideas as well as your own and decide on the appropriate dresses before sharing it with your bridesmaids. If you provide them with swatches of material, you can offer them the option to choose their own dresses as long as they are made of the same material.
  • Take pictures of the gowns/dresses you like (Make an appointment and visit only one bridal salon in one day and never buy on your first visit). Never buy on your first visit!
  • After your shop visits check the Internet for the same or similar gowns/dresses. You may find exactly what you want and save a lot of money buying from an Internet seller.
  • Buy only from reputable sources. When shopping on the Internet check customers’ review and grading (4 or 5 stars).
  • Print the worksheets from your FREE Wedding Planning Guide – Book  and use them to check the small print, cancellation and refund policies and have them confirm everything in writing as per worksheets.
  • Define the comfortable heel height and select your shoes. (Internet sellers that specialize in wedding shoes provide a great resource and have lots of choices.)
  • Order your dress.
  • Shop for, and get your complementing accessories.
  • After you receive your gown – dress, try it on with the appropriate accessories. I bet you look gorgeous! Cover it with a white sheet and hang it in a clean airy place until it is time to get dressed.
